- <p> Atlanta, which was euphoric over its selection as the site
- of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, is suffering some early
- dissension with disturbing racial undertones. The organizing
- committee's scheme to build a water-polo pool and a
- field-hockey stadium on the campus of all-black Atlanta
- University has been frowned on by some members of the Action
- Forum, a group of black civic leaders. They call the plans
- "totally unacceptable" because school authorities were not
- consulted. Declared James Costen, president of the
- Interdenominational Theological Center: "As usual, we are being
- planned for rather than planned with."
